Human Immunodeficiency Viruses (HIV) Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS) & Sexually Transmitted Infections (STI) Training Webinar!

Three (3) Hours of North Carolina Addictions Specialist Professional Practice Board Credit will be awarded to attendees.

The webinar met over a two-day period, attendees had to attend both days of the webinar to be awarded the three hours of HIV/STD Certification Credit.

Webinar Dates and Times:

• March 2 from 2:00 pm to 3:30 pm
• March 3 from 2:00 pm to 3:30 pm

This interactive training provided basic information, core messages, values, and best practices related to HIV/AIDS prevention. In addition, the training provided an overview on the most common Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs): chlamydia, gonorrhea, trichomoniasis, syphilis, herpes, HPV, and what are identified prevention strategies. By the end of the three (3) hour online training, participants had:

• Learned about HIV
• Identified strategies for prevention of HIV
• Learned more about common STDs
• Learned how to help the community lower its risk for STD

Audience:

This training was designed for substance use prevention and addiction professionals, public health and other professionals interested in the training topic.

Skill Level:

The event was intended to serve the needs of novice to advance skilled community members.

About the North Carolina Training and Technical Assistance Center (NCTTA):

The NCTTA provides training and technical assistance to North Carolina Substance Abuse Prevention Providers and interested communities. Services include:

• Developing tools and strategies to improve the quality of substance abuse prevention activities

About the Trainers:

TTJ Group, LLC promotes public health by collaborating with communities to create and provide innovative and culturally appropriate services on a national level. The Group has a seventy-five (75) plus network of content consultants and associates included to provide work in this proposal who have worked with prevention programs nationally and specifically within their professions and are specialists in substance abuse disorder prevention, and public health. They each have a solid understanding of working with faith-based organizations and communities, Strategic Prevention Framework (SPF) and understanding of program sustainability. They represent over two hundred years of experience in the human service field.
