This webinar is designed to serve as a follow up to our Winter 2019 Dover Youth 2 Youth Empowerment Training. Even if you did not attend the prior training, the webinar is a great fit if you are interested in the respective topic! See the webinar video below! The webinar is designed to provide participants with a foundation and framework for youth, and the coalition generally, to collaborate with the mass media and press to get their message out. Core concepts and principles are explained and then applied to prevention-oriented examples and situations. Topics covered will include conducting a press conference, preparing a press release, talking points & sound bites, letters to the editor, photo ops, and techniques for preparing to be interviewed by a reporter. The Six Most Common Types of Questions asked by a reporter are described and strategies for answering those questions are demonstrated. Instructions are given for using other tools, such as templates to simplify the writing of a press release. A comprehensive handout is provided to registrants to support the topics covered in the webinar.
