The North Carolina Online Retail Training is designed to provide valuable information about the legal requirements of merchants and employees who sell tobacco products in North Carolina.
The training is a self-paced course that has a short certification quiz required at the end. Any computer, tablet or smartphone with an active internet connection can be used to complete the experience.
Topics included in the online training are:
- Health Risk Associated with Tobacco Use
- Federal and State Laws
- Overview of the Tobacco Control Act
- Review of Penalties and Violations
- Effective Carding Procedures
- Refusal Processes
At the end of the webinar participants will:
- Understand the purpose, design, and content of the online training system
- Understand how to effectively use the system
- Evaluate best practices on how to promote the tool with local providers

The event is intended to serve the professional needs of moderate and/or advanced professionals or anyone interested in improving their ability in promoting effective Tobacco Merchant Education.
