This training is designed for SPF-RX Staff and Communities, Prevention Block Grant Professionals and LME/MCO Staff. The materials provided will be relevant to any substance abuse prevention provider who is interested in using social media to advance community messaging. Seating is limited and will be assigned based on the following priority: SPF-Rx Staff and Communities, Block Grant Staff and LME/MCO Staff.
The event is intended to serve the professional needs of entry-level professionals or anyone interested in improving their ability to better manage community-based prevention efforts.
Kristin Mattson, MPH, MCHES—Kristin Mattson is a Health Education Specialist and Project Manager with over 10 years of experience working in education, communications, and public health. She is a certified group facilitator and experienced social media and communications trainer. In the past three years, Ms. Mattson has conducted close to 30 in-person and virtual communication training sessions including more than a dozen social media training, and 6 social media webinars. The majority of her training was specifically geared towards community-based organizations and anti-drug coalitions working to reduce opioid misuse, abuse, and overdose in the Appalachian region. In addition to developing and delivering training, Ms. Mattson also coordinated a series of thought leader interviews and community engagement sessions to inform a toolkit for community-based organizations communicating about the opioid epidemic in Appalachia.
