- Open the ExcelPractice2JohnDoe spreadsheet.
- Right-click on the Row 5 heading.
- From the pop-up menu click on the Insert option.
- In Cell A5, key in Bill.
- In Cell B5, key in 100.
- In Cell C5, Key in 90.
- In Cell D5, key in 95.
- Right-click on the Row 6 heading.
- Click on the Delete option. This will delete the Jane’s information.
- Click in Cell B3.
- Hold down the shift key and click on Cell B6. This will select the range B3 through B6.
- Move your cursor over one of the selected cells (B3, B4, B5, or B6), right-click, then click on the copy option from the pop-up menu. Using the copy option will the leave a copy the text at its current location. If you select the cut option, the text will remove from its current location.
- Click on Cell E3. Move your curser of Cell E3, right-click, then click on the Paste option from the pop-up menu.
- Double-click after the 1 in Cell E3, click the backspace key to delete the 1, then key in a 4. Now the contents of Cell E3 should be Test 4.
- Click in Cell F3 and key in Test 5.
- Click in Cell F4 and key in 100.
- Move the cursor to the bottom right corner of Cell F4. The cursor will change to a black + sign.
- After you get the black + sign, double-click your mouse. This will auto fill Bill and Sue’s test grades.
- Right-click on the Row 1 heading. Select the Delete option from the pop-up menu. Also, you can delete columns by right-clicking on the column heading and selecting delete from the pop-up menu.
- Move the cursor between the Column A and Column B headings. This will change the cursor to a double left-right cursor ( ). After you get the new cursor, double-click your mouse. By double-clicking between the column headings, it will adjust the width of Column A to the largest value in Column A.
- Using the directions that are listing in Step 20, adjust the column widths of Columns B, C, D, E, and F.
- Right-click on the Column A heading and select the Column Width option from the pop-up menu.
- Change the column width to 5 and click the OK button.
- Select the Range A1:F1 by clicking on Cell A1, hold down the shift key, then click on Cell F1.
- On the home tab, in the alignment group, click on the merge and center button.
- Click in Cell A1 and key in History Grades.
- Select the Range B2:F2 by clicking on Cell B2, hold down the shift key, then click on Cell F2.
- On the Home tab, in the font group, click on the bold button.
- Select the Range A3:A5 by clicking on Cell A3, hold down the shift key, then click on Cell A5.
- On the Home tab, in the font group, click on the bold and italic buttons.
- Select the Range B3:F5 by clicking on Cell B3, hold down the shift key, then click on Cell F5.
- On the Home tab, in the font group, click on the down chevron beside of the font color button, then select the Blue option.
- With the B3:F5 still selected - On the Home tab, in the alignment group, click on the Center button.
- Key your first name in Cell A7.
- Key your last name in Cell A8.
- Click on the file tab, click the Save As option, select a location to save you file, change the filename to ExcelPractice2FirstNameLastName (replace your FirstNameLastName with your name).
